LiveAnalysis runs on leading edge technology from Cisco Systems. The Cisco network is front-ended with the industry's premier bandwidth provider, AT&T and Exodus. The facility is multi-homed using BGP4 on Cisco 7000 series routers, with the IBGP routing protocol running internally and EBGP running on the public interfaces.
Fiber-optic cabling, which runs directly into the core routers, provides a scalable DS3 connection at the primary location and is channeled through Cisco PIX firewalls. These firewalls provide the first tier of network security. Due to the high transaction rate of LiveAnalysis products, a unique and highly scalable network design was implemented using Layer 4 switching technology provided by Alteon Networks, allowing SSL transactions to be funneled and load balanced through the "SSL Funneling" technology. All other transactions bypass the encryption devices. VeriSign provides a secure 128-bit SSL certificate that the hardware encryption devices use to process hundreds of thousands of SSL transactions in parallel.
The core switching back plane is provided by Cisco 6000 series switches and provides a lightning fast gigabit-a 210 million packets-per-second transaction rate.
